Coorg is located more than 1,500 meters above sea level with temperatures in the summer reaching as high as 95 degrees Fahrenheit, and as low as 48 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter.

Whilst the temperature can fall quite low, the average during winter is very mild with lows of 59 degrees and highs of 68 degrees Fahrenheit. The coldest months are generally December to February, and although this period is still relatively mild, it is advisable to pack woolen clothing if traveling to the region during this period.

During the summertime the temperatures will not generally fall below 77 degrees Fahrenheit, so light cotton clothing is recommended. The weather does not get as hot as many other parts of India during the daytime making the homestay Coorg vacation a pleasant experience, whilst it remains dry.

The monsoon season can produce some very wet, but humid weather between June and August, so it is important if taking a homestay Coorg vacation at this time to bring suitable clothing. However, this does bring about some spectacular greenery and plant life and is also a good time to see the town’s seasonal waterfalls.

The ideal time for a homestay Coorg holiday or indeed any type of vacation here is probably between September and March when the weather is not so hot. That said, the town provides fresh air and greenery throughout the year and provides a pleasant break from the stresses of city life.
