It was a wonderful stay! Place full of greenery. Loved the weather. Sarah Homestay is very spacious with a big front yard. We were mostly indoor enjoying family time with kids and parents.

Washrooms could have been more clean. Linen and the pillows were a bit dusty. But am sure you will improve upon that.

Thank you.

Hospitality Redefined

I have been to Coorg before and was always enchanted by its beauty. But Sarah Hills has elevated this to an all new level. The photos posted here can only give you a partial idea of what its actually like. When you get there you will get a real feel of what heaven must be like. The owners are very kind and will ensure you that your stay at Sarah Hills would be like a stay at your own home. They were kind enough to accede to our small requests and made us absolutely comfortable.

The caretakers are exceptionally kind people. Mr. Poovaiah and his wife Mrs. Bhavya are very warm and hospitable people. They ensure that your needs are well attended to. Mrs. Bhavya cooks food for the guests and asks them for their choice of non-vegetarian food before cooking. The food is not only delicious but is also very safe since its home cooked. The quantity is generous and enough to satiate one's appetite. We never asked for more even once.

Few tips for travelers:

1. Bring your own booze if you plan on drinking, since the town is a good 15 minutes away and not easily accessible if you don't have your own vehicle. It would also make senses to carry your own snacks if you wish to.

2. Carry large water bottles which the caretakers will happily refill.

3. Carry a mosquito repellent device to be on the safer side.

Overall Sarah Hills is a great place to stay and is a far better option than staying in a resort/hotel since they come with their own limitations unlike living amidst nature and away from everything that is commercial.

It was our first trip to Coorg on our second marriage anniversary. The location is really good right on the top of the hill, we were put up on the first floor which has a fabulous view (thanks Sanjay for the suggestion). Sanjay has been very helpful (though couldnt meet him personally) by guiding us right from the arrival .Thanks Sanjay and the homestay staff by being such nice host.

P.S: Try Fish Fry here, its just AWESOME !!!

Treat For The Soul

If you want a break from the everyday hustle bustle of life, this is the place to be. Untouched by the commercialisation rapidly taking over Coorg, this place will make you think. Pooviah, his wife and his two sons are an absolute delight and will make you realise how little language has to do with communication. I think I would make this an yearly experience.

This was our first long trip after my Son's birth and our first trip to Coorg, Mr. Sanjay was really very soft in nature and guided us all the way from Mysore till we reach Sarah Hills and even suggested us a good hotel for lunch on our way to homestay. Thanks to Mrs. Sanjay enquired about my Son's health after she came to know that he is ill. They both were very kind and caring.
We enjoyed every moment of our stay, especially the hospitality and food provided. The house is very big and spacious where my Son played a lot until he got tired. Entire house was surrounded by Coffee Estate and the house was situated right on the top of the hill. Most of the time either it is raining or the entire place will be surrounded by fog.
We only heard the sounds of birds/insects compare to the horn sounds we heard in city's and we felt really relaxed and felt the escape of Mad traffics in Bangalore.
I need to thank the Caretaker of the house Mr. Pooviah his Wife and their Sons for their hospitality and the tasty foods prepared by them. Especially the Dogs (Diana and Blacky Spot)were very cute.
We left ours souls and only the body returned back to Bangalore. We felt it is home away from home.
Rooms and the surrounding areas of the house are very well maintained and if you want to have a unforgettable experience in your life be there atleast once...
Thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Sanjay

Pleasant stay

This was indeed a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed every aspect of this trip... the drive, the location, the property, the food, the hospitality.. etc... The housekeepers (Pooviah and his wife) made us feel at home with good food. Sanjay (owner) was very accomodative of us in terms of our changes, etc.. Special note to Sanjay for providing us tips on what route to take, where certain places are and what to eat there etc was a nice touch. The only downside of this was the power situation with low voltages and power frequent power cuts.. there was no TV and geysers available..

I am all ready and rejuvenated to face the Bangalorean mad traffic and the coming week ! Thanks Sanjay & Sarah Hills ! Coline

This was our first family trip (me, my husband and in laws, my mother and my little daughter) and our first visit to Coorg. We enjoyed a lot over there..

Coorg is beautiful need less to say but Sarah Hills has enhanced our experience beyond that..

It is located on the hilly area surrounded with coffee estate. There is a big courtyard in front of the guest house and little far from the city (as we wanted). My 1.7 years old daughter played a lot there until she got tired..The rooms, foods & services was excellent..If you want to stay sometimes in the lap of nature be there atleast once..Great experience..Thanks Sarah Hills..would love to visit again....

This place is actually located on a hill. It is a very big house and has a big courtyard from where you can get the view of the mountains ranges. We are very happy with the stay, food and service provided. Many thanks.
