Experience - Awesome 3-Night stay in the beginning of August. Serene, Scenic, Peaceful and close to Nature and Wildlife.Proximity-5km from Dubare Elephant Camp, CoorgLocation- Inside a coffee plantation about 1.5-2km off the main road. Electric Fencing is there on one side to restrict wild animals from entering human habitable area.Weather - Mostly rainy during the time we visited.Food - Good food. Local cuisinesService - Very good.Car Park - Check. Have basic necessities like Tyre air pressure machine in the vicinity.Phone and internet - You are almost inside the forest, only bsnl has full coverage and airtel has partial coverage.Totally Recommended for people who want to escape the city traffic and pollution.

Small cottage in a coffee estate

Amazing place to spend a weekend. The entrance is surrounded by Coffee and pepper plantations that will take your breath away. The cottage has modest amenities. The food is home cooked and is not what you expect to get in hotels. They coffee and breakfast served was great. If it is not raining, you can light a small bonfire and spend a nice evening chatting beneath the starlit skies in an open field. You can also take a long walk in the 60 hectare coffee estate. It is advisable to get your own vehicle if you are paying a visit. Coorg Homestay's driver is commuting tourists to this place from the past 4 years and knows the area well.It is advisable that you do not visit here late nights or early mornings as you might encounter a wild elephant on your way if it is your unlucky day.Overall, I would love to revisit this place if I visit Coorg again.

Home in a Coffee Estate

An excellent place to stay if you want the atmosphere of a home on a coffee estate without exactly staying in someone's house. It was a relaxing experience with food prepared in the owner's home kitchen. Comfortable cottage with hot water all day and reasonable amenities. As long as you don't expect service like a hotel and are not too fussy, a great place to stay. All in all I recommend Range Field for a weekend getaway.

Nice Stay amidst nature...

Nice stay...the place is within a coffee plantation...approach road is amidst dense forest...a bit difficult to locate, but the owner was more than helpful to take you from the main road...( direction to reach- from kushalnagar take the road to dubare elephant camp, after the diversion of dubare, keep going for another 3-4 km, reach valnur, a corp bank branch is there, take the second right hand turn, the rangefield is at the end of that road)...The whole area was within lush green, were greeted with hot coffee...the day we went, it was raining heavily and no power was there, still generators were available, hot water from geysers and whole night power back up via inverter was there...food was yummy, best pork curry ever ate...it was so nice of them that they served it at our room itself...breakfast was nice too, mostly local cuisines.. over all a nice and cozy stay...would recommend for those, who want isolation and run from the city life for a few days...not recommended if you want your tv soaps or constant business deals over phones...as only BSNL network, that too intermittently is available...

A beautiful place to stay 🙂

 by Madhu

Stayed for two days, thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of nature. The hospitality was good, Rooms were clean and well maintained. Its right in the middle of a forest and surrounded by a coffee estate. Ultimate greenery around. There was some concerns about the food, especially for kids, but the helper and the estate owner too were available all the time and they tried to provide possible good food. They served desi type chicken which was best suited for the location and the climate.

Memorable Stay!

Stayed here in the month of May 2015 for 1 day (overnight) on way to Coorg. The place amid acres of lush green coffee plantations and other greenery is feast for eyes and soothing to mind. There was rain on that day which made it even better! Owner was very friendly and guided us all the way during journey and stay. Staff was courteous and attended all our needs on time. The homely food for breakfast and dinner with local delicacies was very good! Overall a memorable stay and looking forward to visit again! Thanks!

Coorg, land of coffee they call; you could even call it as land of colours, every where you turn you'll find lots and lots of colourful flowers, birds and insects. Range field is surrounded by coffee plantations, orange trees, few ponds and a small stream. The host is very much friendly and caring, you could find that when he directs you from main road to the home. The helper boy Dhanu, I like call him as "superfast" Dhanu, he just runs in fraction of seconds here and there. He understands and speak many of the major Indian regional languages which would really make you comfortable. I really want to thanks the cook for their such a homely food and the quantity was fulfilling, whenever you have breakfast or dinner there your mind will surely say its worth for money you paid. I would recommend this place for nature lovers who are bored of city buzz and set their bio-clock right. You could hear only birds chirping, sounds of insects and dogs. Every morning I loved to walk in the mist-filled grassland around the home. The only thing is it is pretty isolated but that's what make is place a really good experience. And there wouldn't be mobile signal unless and until you have BSNL and you would the signal once a while. A day without TV and mobile would make you a life time experience. If you are not travelling by your own vehicle, I would recommend to hire a cab for you stay there to make the sightseeing easy. My awesome 2 days of experience at Range field will be remembered for life time.
